Welingkar Institute of Management Development and Research was established in the year 1977, with a focus of giving a new dimension to business studies. It is a part of Shikshana Prasaraka Manadali, which has 40 prominent institutions and at any time has over 7000 enrolled students across the country. The JOSEPHITE tradition started in Bangalore with the opening of the St. Josephs European High School by the Paris Foreign Mission Fathers in 1858. In 1884 St. Josephs College was established. It has grown steadily and today has more than 6000 students enrolled at the Undergraduate and Post Graduate Courses in Arts, Science, Commerce, Computer and Management disciplines.
